If you thought Disney World tickets seemed expensive before, get ready for a shocker. Single-day ticket prices at the Orlando theme park have now surpassed $300, making them even harder to afford on a budget.

Disney quietly hikes the price during peak weekends

Disney World has hiked the price of a single one-day pass with access to all parks to an eye-popping $301. The price hike was done quietly and applies to peak weekend visits.

The advertised price of the multi-park pass is $280, but keep in mind there are taxes applied, bringing it to $301. This means for a family of four hoping to visit the park on a weekend, you're paying well over $1,000.

Adding insult to injury, purchasing a high-tier ticket still does not guarantee immediate entry during peak capacity sellouts.

Pricing out families and anyone on a budget

With this move, Disney World has effectively priced out families and anyone who is on a budget. It's not just the multi-park pass that carries a steep price tag; even a basic single-day, single-park ticket is over $200 now. If you want to experience a piece of Disney magic, you'll need to pay a lot for it.

Additional price hikes include the "Incredi-Pass" increasing by $120 to $1,749, top-tier single-day passes increased by $10 to $229, and then the "Lightning Lane" line-skipping passes went up by an eye-watering $50 to $499. In short, it seems like there were price hikes almost across the board.

Disneyland wasn't spared from price hikes

If you're thinking of visiting Disneyland in California to avoid the price hikes in Orlando, you may want to think again.

Prices also went up at Disneyland, but not as steeply. One piece of good news is that the California park announced a price freeze on the one-day ticket, keeping it at $104, where it has been since 2019.

More and more of a pipe dream

With price hikes like these, a visit to Disney World and even Disneyland is becoming more and more of a pipe dream.
