If there's one thing you can bet on with Disney parks, it's that there's always construction and changes taking place. It looks like Disneyland will be making a big change with plans to demolish an entire area in the park by 2027.

The park will look very different by 2027

Whether you have a trip booked to Disneyland or you're thinking a little further off into the future, the park could look a whole lot different when you're there.

Disneyland will be demolishing an entire area that has been around since 2006. While the theme park hasn't released an official announcement yet, Fox 11 was made aware of nine confidential permits for the theme park area within Disneyland.

Hollywood Land will enter the planning phase

Hollywood Land is about to look very different. Supposedly included in the planning phase will be the demolition of the Hollywood Lounge quick-service area and the "Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue" show building.

Disneyland Resort officials have said this is all part of the "DisneylandForward" plan.

This means the "Monsters Inc." dark ride will officially close in 2027. If you are a fan of this attraction, you're going to want to visit this year.

Avatar enters the chat

So what's happening in that area of the park? It's no secret, and it was actually announced in 2023 by Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The new "Avatar Experience" will take over the space. Transforming into Pandora is a huge undertaking, but it's also a way to reenergize interest in Disneyland.

It gets even more exciting, though. The new area will specifically be inspired by "Avatar: The Way of Water" and will feature a water-based boat ride.

The boat will travel through luminescent environments, making you feel like you're actually in Pandora.

Get your visit in now

As you can see, there are big changes on the horizon at Disneyland. If you're a sucker for all things Pixar and Monsters, Inc. related, be sure to visit now before the land is demolished.
