Whether you're a vegetarian or not, there's a good chance you've seen the increase in meat substitutes over the years. While they don't claim to provide the exact same taste and texture, they tend to be more readily available.

Rollins is now taking aim at what she calls Biden-era policies that "pushed" these substitutes and took the spotlight off real meat.

"There was a massive push under the last administration to eat less meat. Could you imagine? Don’t stop eating meat. There was a massive push under the Democrats to eat fake meat and lab-grown meat," said Rollins.

The admin puts together a long-term meat strategy

Rollins appeared on Mornings with Maria to talk about the administration's beef import and long-term cattle strategy, emphasizing that the goal is to support American ranchers and farmers. Part of the plan is to encourage people to eat more real meat, rather than substituting it entirely.

"We're working on deconstructing and then reconstructing our entire system around homegrown, nutrient-dense, fresh food, making America healthy again," she said.

A plan to increase beef procurement and local investments

The administration's plan also includes investments in small and mid-sized regional processors and increase federal beef procurement. Goals of expanding export opportunities for U.S. ranchers and farmers have also been discussed.

On the flip side, consumers are facing what seems like ever-rising beef prices, which puts more stress on tight budgets.
