The Costco food court is notorious for its affordable options, many of which are fan favorites. The chain has been hyping up the return of its twisted churros, but before you rush to get yours, expect it to taste a little different.

Not the item shoppers know and love

It's always exciting when a favorite menu item at Costco is brought back, even if it's for a limited time. Costco served straight churros before 2020. In 2021, they introduced the twisted churro, which fans disliked. They dropped churros in early 2024, and now the twisted churros are back again.

While it's now back in the twisted version, shoppers aren't convinced that was a good choice.

Social media isn't entirely buying into the hype

Scrolling through social media, it's clear that not all shoppers are happy about the choice. There seems to be plenty of love for the straight churros, but not so much for the twisted churros.

People have pointed to the twisted ones often tasting stale, dry, doughy, and more expensive than they were before COVID.

Despite the discourse online, there are also some great ideas for pairing the twisted churros with other Costco menu options.

Some popular suggestions include dunking them in a mocha freeze or dipping them in a sundae.

There's no shortage of opinions online, and many shoppers are sharing what they hope Costco will bring back in the near future.

Getting lots of love on Reddit are the combo pizza and the Polish dog.

There's no word yet on what the next menu release will be, but it's highly likely that Costco is aware of what shoppers are hoping for.

Get it while it's available

If you're a fan of the twisted churros, you're going to want to grab them while they are available. You never know how long a menu item will stick around at the Costco food court.
