The frozen juice era is over as Minute Maid exits the market
It's the end of an iconic era in Canada. Coca-Cola's Minute Maid brand has announced its frozen juice concentrate will no longer be available.
The frozen juice concentrate will be gone as of April
As of April of this year, Canadians won't be able to find the Minute Maid frozen juice concentrate at grocery stores. This follows the announcement by Lassonde in 2025 to pull out of the Canadian market.
Between these two companies leaving Canada, consumers will be left with few, if any, options in the frozen juice concentrate aisle.
Customers in the United States aren't immune either, as Minute Maid will not be available there.
A response to changing markets
You may be feeling nostalgic about the iconic frozen concentrate, but unfortunately, the market isn't reflecting your feelings.
Coca-Cola has blamed "shifting consumer preferences" for the winddown of the product. It isn't a question of pricing or branding; consumers just aren't interested in the product.
It's a fast-paced world, and chances are you don't have a lot of free time. When you want a glass of juice, you want it right then. The last thing people want to be bothered with is making the juice first.
Juice has a target on it
The situation goes deeper than just frozen juice concentrate. The entire juice industry is experiencing a total lack of interest.
There is a real push towards healthy living and eating, and juice doesn't necessarily fit into the picture.
Stock up now
If you're a fan of frozen juice concentrate, now's your time to stock up while supplies are still available. It truly is the end of an era.
