Snoop Dogg is hiring an ice cream taster for $10,000 a month
Someone’s lifelong habit of eating ice cream may finally have a purpose, as Snoop Dogg might have just created their dream job. The rapper and entrepreneur is looking for an international ice cream taster to be paid $10,000 a month.
The position is for Dr. Bombay, the ice cream brand Snoop launched with his son Cordell Broadus in 2023. And because the company is expanding beyond the U.S., it wants someone who can bring some international flavor to the freezer aisle.
What does an ice cream taster actually do?
Dr. Bombay has partnered with hiring platform Deel to find someone who can sample frozen treats, identify emerging flavor trends and help develop future products as the brand expands internationally. So if you are the type who walks into an ice cream shop and immediately starts thinking, “Mango chili with a little lime would go crazy,” this job is basically calling your name.
Snoop announced the search on Aug. 27, saying Dr. Bombay is looking around the world for inspiration as it develops new flavors.
There is some family history behind this
The job isn't completely random, either. Dr. Bombay's story traces back to Snoop's father, Vernell Varnado, who was raised on a dairy farm in Mississippi.
Now the family business is going global, and Snoop's dad even appears in promotional material encouraging people to help the company discover new flavors.
Think you have the taste buds? Here's how to apply
The position is open to applicants around the world, and you will have to apply through Deel. But don't expect to simply upload your résumé and write "I love ice cream" in the cover letter.
Applicants will need to provide personal information, social media handles and details about their experience with ice cream. The application also asks candidates some extremely important professional questions, including “how much ice cream do you eat per week?”
There is also a creative challenge asking applicants to create a social media post about a food or flavor combination they're currently obsessed with.
Snoop is deep in the frozen-treats business
The ice cream gig also comes as Snoop expands Dr. Bombay's frozen-dessert empire. Back in June, the brand launched Snoopsicles, Snoop's first popsicle.
The flavor, appropriately called "razzed out," combines raspberry, cherry and lime sherbet. The popsicles are made with real fruit juice and no artificial colors, and they're available at select Costco locations for $14.99 per 24-pack.
So if you usually have serious opinions about frozen desserts, a strong palate, and the ability to explain why one bizarre flavor combination absolutely slaps, $10,000 a month is waiting on the other side of the application.
