McDonald's changes its McCrispy strips after bad customer reviews
If you tried the McDonald's McCrispy strips and were left less than impressed, you may want to give them another try. The fast-food giant has made a recipe change after getting negative customer feedback.
Giving customers what they want
This is an example of a company listening to customers, going back to the drawing board, and giving them what they want. McDonald's is used to hit after hit, but everyone has a dud once in a while.
Food blogger Snack With Zach recently shared the scoop on Instagram, telling followers the recipe change is part of the McDonald's Next initiative plan.
“A new version of McCrispy Strips is expected to begin replacing the current version during the week of July 6th with a crispier, crunchier breading,” he posted.
“McDonald’s also reiterated plans to continue expanding its chicken offerings over the next few years, including an eventual push into hand-breaded chicken,” he continued.
Customers are willing to give McCrispy strips another chance
Comments on Snach with Zach were mixed, but many said they were excited and willing to give the new recipe a try. Many were also calling for McDonald's to go back to its original recipe with the Chicken Selects.
Some of the issues followers were complaining about were that the McCrispy strips were dry, the taste wasn't good, they needed to be juicier, and more.
McCrispy strips were introduced in 2025
The McCrispy strips haven't even been around that long. They were introduced in May 2025, and it seems like the reception was lukewarm from the start.
Other similar iterations were the Buttermilk Crispy Tenders that were discontinued in 2020, while the previously mentioned Chicken Selects were removed in 2013 but returned for a short time in 2015.
Customers are hoping the new recipe is a hit
With only a couple of weeks to go before the new recipe launches, it's clear customers are hyped and hoping the new recipe hits right.
