Krispy Kreme data breach victims qualify for $3,500 payout
If you got a notice about a data breach from Krispy Kreme last year and ignored it, now’s the time to check again. A settlement tied to the company’s November 2024 breach is now open — and eligible people could receive up to $3,500, depending on what they lost.
The breach dates back to November 2024 and impacted about 161,000 current and former employees.
This settlement is not open to everyone. It is specifically for individuals tied to that breach. If you received a notification saying your personal information may have been exposed, you’re likely part of the settlement class.
What happened in the breach
Back in November 2024, Krispy Kreme disclosed a data breach that may have exposed employee information. That can include things like personal details, identification numbers, and internal records.
The exact scope varies, but the risk is the same in that once that data is out, it can be used later for fraud or identity-based attacks.
The Payout Breakdown
The payout depends on whether you can prove losses. There are two lanes here. There is the class eligible for up to $3,500 if you can document actual losses (fraud, identity theft, expenses).
Another payout option is around $75. This is for those who don’t have documentation but still file a claim.
So if you had expenses tied to identity theft, fraud, or related issues, it’s worth digging up receipts or records.
The deadline is coming up fast
This isn’t one of those situations where you still have so much time to push forward taking an action for months. If you’d like to opt out of or object to the payout, you have until June 6, 2026 to do that.
The deadline to submit a claim is less than a month away, on June 22, 2026. Miss it, and you’re out.
