We've got another product recall, and this one is a bit of a surprise. A large Class II recall of soaps has been issued by the FDA because of a possible bacterial contamination. Not what you want your soap to contain.

Your hand soap may be doing the opposite

Think about how many times you wash your hands in a day without a second thought about the soap you're using. This recall should prompt you to check what you've got on hand and potentially get rid of it.

The soap was originally recalled in June, but just got the Class II designation last week.

A long list of products recalled

Here's a look at what's included in the recall, which equated to almost 2,700 cases of soap:

A potential bacterial contamination

As for what may be in the soap, it could be contaminated with Pseudomonas putida, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas monteilii, or Serratia nematodiphila.

The soap was sold in 15 states and distributed through 19 wholesalers.

Not worth taking the chance

If you do have any of the soaps listed at home, be sure to throw them away. It's just not worth taking a chance.
