The country music world lost a true local legend this week. Brian "Nashville" Neil Duckworth—one-third of the family country trio Taylor Made—passed away at his West Virginia home on Sept. 7 at age 56.

While thousands knew him for sharing stages with country royalty, locals in West Virginia knew him just as well behind the wheel of a dump truck, proving you don't have to give up your roots to chase a national dream.

Rose to fame with his siblings

Duckworth first rose to fame 15 years ago when he created a country music group with his sister Wendy Williams and brother Greg Duckworth.

He referred to them as "three kids from the back porch" who were "just excited about each and every step along the way."

"He loved to sing and proudly performed with his family band, Taylor Made. Brian never passed up an opportunity to share his voice, earning him the affectionate nickname 'Nashville,'" read his obituary.

Duckworth performed with many other greats

Duckworth had plenty of musical success stories over the years, including Taylor Made's "Things You Don't Grow Out Of" in 2012 that went on to hit number 36 on the Billboard Indicator chart.

Later that year, the band was named the Independent Artist of the Year by MusicRow Magazine.

Taylor Made performed with big names like Miranda Lambert, Charlie Daniels, and Dierks Bentley, among others.

More than just a singer

While many know Duckworth as a country music singer, it wasn't his only job. He also worked as a dump truck driver for Wolfe's Excavating and got the nickname "Truck Boss."

His obituary noted just how much he enjoyed being a truck driver because he got to spend his days outdoors.

"Whether working or relaxing, Brian was happiest surrounded by nature," it read. "Above all, Brian treasured his family and the special memories they created together. He also dearly loved his faithful fur family, who were constant companions and brought him great comfort and happiness."

Duckworth is survived by his wife of more than 15 years, his six children, five siblings, and four grandchildren. The cause of death was not released.
