Costco recalls 18,500 patio swings after 8 injuries
Costco is recalling thousands of patio swings after reports that the seats can detach while people are using them. Yes, that happens mid-swing, and it has already led to injuries.
The recall involves the Agio Menlo Woven Patio Swing, sold in Costco stores and online earlier this year. About 18,500 units with model number 1934256 sold between February 1 and March 20, 2026, were affected. The issue is tied to the swing’s hooks, which can fail and cause the seat to separate from the frame.
According to the recall notice, there have been eight reported injuries due to multiple cases of the swing seat detaching during use. These include impact injuries to the head and arms, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported.
What to do right now
If you bought this swing, it is important that you stop using it immediately. The manufacturer, World Bright International Limited, is offering a free repair kit with replacement hooks and instructions.
To get it, you’ll need to submit a request online, provide your contact details, and confirm the model number. You can also get the free repair kit by visiting agioliving.com/pages/recall/patioswing or contact World Bright toll-free at 1-888-383-1932.
No need to return the entire swing, but you do need to fix it before using it again.
Outdoor furniture doesn’t usually feel like a “high-risk” purchase. But anything involving weight, suspension, and moving parts can become dangerous fast if just one component fails—which is why a small hardware issue turned into a real safety risk.
So, if you picked up a new patio swing this year, it is worth double-checking the model. This is not about a cosmetic defect or a small inconvenience. It’s crucial, as it is about whether the thing you and your family members will be sitting on stays attached.
