Campbell's introduces new version of its most iconic soup
There's something incredibly comforting about a piping hot bowl of Campbell's chicken noodle soup, unless you're on a gluten-free diet. Campbell's wants everyone to get a taste of the comfort and is releasing a gluten-free version of its Chicken Noodle soup.
Campbell's partners with chickpea pasta maker
If you're all about the gluten-free lifestyle, then you're probably very familiar with Banza, a chickpea pasta maker. Well, now Banza and Campbell's have paired up to create the new gluten-free version of the condensed chicken noodle soup.
Banza is touting a chickpea pasta that can retain its texture and shape even in soup. This gives people the same consistency as a traditional chicken noodle soup.
Not the first gluten-free soup from the company
This isn't the first time Campbell's has dipped its toes into gluten-free soups. The company previously released its gluten-free Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken condensed soups in July 2023..
Campbell's Company senior vice president of soup, Benjamin Crook, said the gluten-free soups have proven to be "popular additions to the portfolio."
“Partnering with Banza lets us bring that same classic chicken noodle taste to the growing number of people looking for gluten-free options ... in a flavorful variety that will stand out on shelf,” said Crook.
The gluten-free market is on the rise
So, just how big is the gluten-free market? Experts predict it will reach $14 billion by 2032, which would mean it doubled its market share over a 10-year span.
Around 30% of the U.S. population now seeks gluten-free options, and again, that number is forecast to grow.
Between mainstream adoption of gluten-free lifestyles and what can feel like increasing diagnoses of celiac disease, the food industry is paying attention and reacting with more choices.
A fun new addition for anyone to try
The great thing about gluten-free options is that you don't have to be gluten-free to enjoy them. The new version of Campbell's chicken noodle soup may just end up being your new favorite.
