Finding the perfect wedding venue can be challenging, but not for this couple, who made an unusual yet natural choice. The couple chose their workplace, a McDonald's in Akron, OH, as the most natural and significant place to tie the knot.

Not your standard banquet hall

Plenty of couples opt for large banquet halls for their wedding, and never think twice about it. For this couple, that was never in the cards.

The newly married Jamie and George Callicoat realized that the most meaningful place to get married was the McDonald's they both worked at. It was the place their relationship grew, and where their bond with their coworkers was created.

While they didn't actually meet at the McDonald's, the couple now works together.

Boss made the suggestion

After the couple got engaged, they began their wedding planning, and it was their boss who joked they should get married at McDonald's. He said their coworkers were basically like family anyway.

The Callicoats not only liked the idea but they loved it. And so the wedding plan was hatched.

On Aug. 8, the happy couple said their vows in front of coworkers, family, and friends at the McDonald's in Akron.

It was a natural choice for the couple

The couple cites the McDonald's location as being significant in their relationship since they got to work together so often.

“I actually moved to Akron shortly after [we got engaged], and applied here (McDonald’s) as well, and ended up working right alongside George,” Jamie told FOX 8 News. “We open together for five days a week as of right now. I’m actually now training to be a manager here, so my schedule is changing a little bit, but he is a regular opener at this store.”

Thinking outside the box pays off

The big takeaway here is that sometimes it's worth thinking outside the box when planning a wedding. No one will ever forget attending the Callicoats' union.
