Ah, the good old days when you could enjoy the endless shrimp platter at Red Lobster. That was the meal that almost took the restaurant chain down, and there are now rumors it may be returning.

Blaming shrimp for bankruptcy

It's hard to believe something so tiny and delicious as shrimp could bring down a restaurant, but it was a huge factor in Red Lobster's bankruptcy filing in 2024.

The offer of endless shrimp was great for customers but cost the company a small fortune. Besides the financial issues it caused, some also blame it for tarnishing the chain's image overall.

Considering what a mess the offer created, it's hard to believe that the chain could be bringing back the promotion.

The shrimp offer needs to play out differently this time

Plenty of restaurants offer "endless" portions of items, and it hasn't led to their financial ruin. It's all about crunching the numbers.

The big question is, has Red Lobster crunched the numbers? If the rumors are true and the endless shrimp offer is coming back, Red Lobster needs to be sure they can handle it financially.

A limited-time deal

Details are very sketchy at the moment, and there is no confirmation from Red Lobster. The Financial Post reported that the endless shrimp deal may return as early as this month.

This time around, it will be a limited-time version. That means if it is announced, you'll want to get it while it lasts.

Bringing back endless shrimp would certainly generate buzz for the restaurant. Not only that, it will likely lead to an increase in customers.

Red Lobster underwent a whole new marketing strategy in the past year. It revamped its menu, started going after younger customers, and introduced limited-time deals like Lobsterfest.

Keep your eyes and ears open

If you're a fan of shrimp and took advantage of the endless shrimp deal at Red Lobster in the past, you might want to be on the lookout. You may just get a chance to enjoy endless shrimp once again.
