Potbelly Sandwich Works is running a limited-time offer for Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses Week.

If you’re a teacher or a nurse, this is one of those rare promos that doesn’t ask you to download an app, rack up points, or jump through five steps just to get a small perk.

You show your ID, you order food, you get something free. That’s it.

What is on the table

From May 4 through May 12, eligible workers can get a free cookie or a regular-sized fountain drink with the purchase of any entrée. That includes original or big sandwiches, wraps, whole salads, and bowls of soup.

The offer is in-store only, and all you need is a valid school or healthcare employee ID at checkout.

Each entrée qualifies for one free item. So if a whole team shows up, everyone can get the deal in the same order. There is no weird “one per transaction” rule blocking that.

It’s also built for group lunches

Clearly leaning into the “team break” vibe, Potbelly is also offering 10% off catering orders over $200 via the code: SAVE10. This is for teams that don’t want to leave work. So schools, hospitals, or departments can just order in and call it a day.

The catering menu includes sandwich boxes, salads and soups, and cookies and shakes.

This offer is valid through May 10.

What this is all about

Potbelly is framing this as a simple thank-you moment.

As Chief Marketing Officer David Daniels said, “We’re grateful for the care and dedication they showcase every single day. Whether it’s stopping in for a quick lunch or sharing a meal with their team, this is our small way of saying thank you.”

If you’re a teacher or a nurse, this is basically a free add-on to a lunch you were probably going to buy anyway. And if you’re rolling in with coworkers, even better.
