McDonald's launches SpongeBob Happy Meals today
There's something wildly fun about your favorite takeout food doing a collab with your favorite TV series or characters. Cue the ultimate McDonald's and SpongeBob collab, as the Golden Arches announced new Happy Meal toys.
A first-time collaboration offering
Starting today, you can get your hands on the new SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal toys at McDonald's US locations. This is the first time the two franchises have collaborated, so expect fans to be pumped.
"For the first time ever, two of the most iconic franchises of the ocean are coming together for one treasure-filled adventure," McDonald's said in its press release.
As you've probably guessed, this is a limited-time offering, so you don't want to snooze on getting your hands on the toys.
Characters are reimagined
There are 15 collectible toys in the collab, all of which feature the most beloved characters in the SpongeBob universe.
Making this collab even cuter is that the characters have been reimagined. They are still depicted as their usual selves, but with fun little twists added.
For example, you can collect SpongeBob as Monkey D. Luffy, Gary as Tony Tony Chopper, Squidward as Sanji, Sandy as Nami, and Patrick as Roronoa Zoro. It adds an extra layer of uniqueness to these collectible toys.
McDonald's continues to pump out the collectibles
This latest Happy Meal collab comes on the heels of McDonald's Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal, which was released in August.
The fact that the two characters were such total opposites made the mash-up all the more popular and fun. Each Hello Kitty character was dressed up as various monsters from the Monarch universe.
Let the FOMO kick in
If you're a fan of SpongeBob, don't wait around for the FOMO to kick in. Instead, you'll want to grab your Happy Meal and toy before it's gone.
