McDonald's Big Arch burger prices vary by 74% across US
If you're craving the new Big Arch burger from McDonald's, you may be shocked to hear that pricing is not the same countrywide. The burger is classified as a "premium" burger and prices vary by a whopping 74% depending on where you're located.
Some states will get hit with a much steeper price
Checking prices across the U.S., the lowest price is $7.46, and the highest is $12.99. It's a huge variance.
Getting punished price-wise based on where you live isn't going to be popular with customers.
Researchers who looked into the pricing collected data from more than 450 McDonald's locations. The results showed that if you live in Lewiston, ME, you'll be paying the most. Those in Columbia, SC, you'll get the lowest price point.
What to expect if you order the burger
Even though you may be paying a higher price for the Big Arch, just like its name implies, this is a pretty big burger.
The burger has two quarter-pounder patties, the signature Big Arch sauce, white cheddar, crispy onions, pickles, slivered onions, and lettuce.
The bun is thick and fluffy, and dusted with sesame and poppy seeds.
There are a few reasons the price varies
What's behind the price differences? It's not always what you'd think. McDonald's isn't picking favorites; instead, each location needs to price the burger based on local factors.
Things like labor costs, supply chain constraints and costs, pricing strategies, and more all help create the price. It may not seem fair, but each location is unique.
A premium burger at a premium price
The hype is real with the Big Arch burger. There are a lot of people very excited to get their hands on it. Just be warned that this is a premium burger at a premium price.
