National French Fry Day lands on Friday, July 10, and some of the biggest fast-food chains are rolling out limited-time deals, including free fries from Chick-fil-A and McDonald's. Here is all you need to know about the deals.

Chick-fil-A wants customers to play with cows first

Chick-fil-A is putting a gamified spin on its giveaway. Inside the Chick-fil-A app, Chick-fil-A One members can play a new mini-game called "Spot the Cows." The challenge is to find and dress up cows before the timer runs out. Complete the game, and you'll unlock a reward for a free medium order of waffle fries.

The reward appears in the app's Rewards tab and can be redeemed by adding it to a mobile order or scanning your Chick-fil-A One QR code in-store. You can keep replaying the game to chase a higher score, but you'll only receive one free fries reward per person. The offer is available while supplies last and expires July 13.

McDonald's is keeping things simple

If arcade-style cow hunting isn't your thing, McDonald's has a much easier path to free fries.

On July 10, McDonald's Rewards members can get a free medium fries with a minimum $1 purchase when ordering through the app.

More places serving up fries deals

A few other chains are joining the fry party. Checkers & Rally's is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on seasoned fries of any size from July 10 through July 12, excluding loaded fries.

Meanwhile, White Castle customers can score free cheese fries with any purchase by using the promo code "cheesy" online, in the app, or in-store.

Other chains, including Whataburger, Wendy's, and Jack in the Box, are also expected to roll out National French Fry Day promotions, though offers may vary by location.
