The next Happy Meal drop could turn into a full-on collectible frenzy. Reports are spreading that McDonald's is teaming up with Squishmallows for a World Cup-themed release this June.

While the company hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, some fans are already planning their runs.

According to reports, the collaboration will feature World Cup-themed Squishmallows plushies. Far from random designs, these are animal and character mascots dressed in soccer jerseys and representing different countries. Some early previews show everything from pandas to pineapples wearing team-inspired kits, each with small Happy Meal-branding details.

The collection could be huge, as reports suggest the U.S. could get 20+ collectibles (possibly up to 23). Brazil may get around 15 designs and other countries will have their own unique assortments.

So depending on where you are, the lineup could look completely different.

When it might drop

The rumored timeline for the drop in the U.S. is June 9, with Australia and New Zealand expected to get theirs sometime in early June. Other countries can look forward to a global rollout around the same time.

Some fans are already claiming the toys have started appearing in select regions.

Why this Happy Meal drop makes sense

The timing lines up perfectly with the World Cup buildup. The 2026 tournament hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico is already driving global hype. At the same time, Squishmallows has been expanding aggressively into licensed collaborations.

The brand’s parent company, Jazwares, is also releasing official World Cup mascot plushies, including Maple the Moose (Canada), Zayu the Jaguar (Mexico), and Clutch the Bald Eagle (U.S.) So, the McDonald’s drop fits into releases around World Cup merch. And if the reports are accurate, June is about to turn fast food into a full-on treasure hunt.
