KFC launches new Supergirl meals with three new sauces and a blue drink
KFC is going fully comic-book-mode for the upcoming Supergirl release. Starting June 8, the chain is rolling out two limited-time Supergirl meals that come with brand-new sauces, collectible merch, and a bright blue drink called the Kryptonian Kooler. Here is all we know.
What comes in the Supergirl meals
The two movie-themed options are the Supergirl Ultimate Meal and the Supergirl Combo Meal. The Ultimate Meal includes your choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or eight Nuggets, one side, a biscuit, a 21-ounce Kryptonian Kooler drink, and a collectible character keychain featuring characters from the movie. Options include Supergirl, an alternate Supergirl design, Lobo, Ruthye, and Krypto the superdog.
The Combo Meal keeps most of the food but swaps the specialty drink for a regular fountain beverage and skips the collectible item.
The blue drink is absolutely the main character
The biggest standout here is easily the Kryptonian Kooler. The drink mixes Starry soda, blue raspberry syrup, and strawberry boba.
This means KFC basically made a superhero-themed cosmic soda. It is bright blue, heavily branded, and clearly built for social media photos before anyone even takes a sip.
KFC made three entirely new sauces for this
Instead of just rebranding existing flavors, KFC created three new sauces tied to movie characters. There is Supergirl’s Solar Honey Mustard, a sweet-and-spicy honey mustard inspired by “solar power” energy. Another sauce is Ruthye’s Sweet Chili Revenge; a sweet chili garlic sauce made for dipping tenders, and Lobo’s Wild Ranch, a ranch sauce mixed with sesame and poppy seeds for a more textured flavor.
The Krypto bucket feels designed for collectors
A few days later, on June 10, KFC is also dropping a reusable collectible bucket topped with Krypto the Superdog.
The chain says it’s “ultra-limited,” which usually translates to people lining up early, resale listings online, and someone posting “my location sold out in 8 minutes.”
Whether people actually care about the movie or just want the blue drink and Krypto bucket probably doesn’t matter much to KFC. Either way, they win the drive-thru-battle.
