Haribo launches sweet and sour crazy skeletons for Halloween
If you've been suffering from FOMO and drooling over the Haribo Halloween-themed treats that other countries get, this is your year. Haribo has announced it's bringing a twist on its "Spooky, Scary Skeletons" to the U.S. in time for spooky season.
Ridiculously cute and tasty gummies
For those who don't get the hype, you're about to see what makes these candies so popular and coveted.
First off, they are ridiculously cute, gummy-style candy, so they keep their shape perfectly, making them ideal for any Halloween decor or party.
Here's the fun twist, though. These skeletons have traditionally been called Sour Skeletons, but to make the U.S. version unique, they will be sweet and sour. They are the same cute shape, but with a totally different flavor profile.
Multiple flavors in the bag
The flavor profile is more than just basic sweet and sour. Each bag contains three mixed flavors.
The half-dark purple and half-dark pink skeletons are black currant and strawberry flavored, the half light-purple and half-green ones are kiwi and cherry flavored, and then the yellow-and-orange skeletons are blood orange and pineapple-flavored.
The four-ounce bags have already been spotted at some Five Below locations and are priced at $1.50.
The Vampire Bats may be stiff competition
As exciting as the skeleton gummies are, diehard fans of Haribo's Vampire Bats may be hard to win over. They have been favorites for a while, but it's all about having an open mind.
Similar to the skeletons, the Vampire Bats are sweet and sour with different fruit combinations. The ultimate plan would be to combine the two and create a real flavor mashup.
You may need to shop around
Because it's still early in the spooky season, the Halloween-themed candies are still being rolled out. If you're on the hunt for the Spooky, Scary Skeletons, be prepared to shop around.
