Ferrero revives Wonka candy with Netflix

If you love a good food collaboration, then this one is going to be especially exciting thanks to its retro vibe. Ferrero Group has announced it will be reviving the Wonka Candy brand in a collaboration with Netflix.

A handful of goodies will be available

The announcement is enough to get plenty of people excited, but this collaboration isn't just one item but 10. They will be seasonal products, all limited-edition, and released this fall.

Some of what you can expect includes ice cream, cereal, and chocolate, of course, all under the Wonka Candy brand. Ferrero appears to be going all in and hoping to tap into consumers' nostalgia.

Collab will help boost the release of new Willy Wonka-themed Netflix projects

Ferrero isn't the only one launching a new product; the whole purpose of this collab is to hype the streaming giant's upcoming releases.

Netflix bought the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021 and is now releasing a reality competition and an animated film all tied to the Willy Wonka universe.

Ferrero is well-experienced in reviving Nestlé candy brands

Ferrero Group purchased Wonka from Nestlé in 2018, and since then, it's remained relatively quiet, or at least it seemed.

It looks like the group is trying to work magic yet again. All you have to do is look at how Ferrero brought Nerds candies from the depths of oblivion, created Nerds Gummy Clusters, and created fresh new buzz and interest.

Ferrero has big hopes of reviving the Wonka brand, saying its goal is “to thoughtfully bring the beloved universe back for long-time fans.”

"[O]ur ambition is to apply the Ferrero lens to the Wonka universe and to bring fresh new energy to the seasonal aisle,” said a statement from Alessandro Rapali, premium chocolate president, Ferrero Group.

Expect to find a new staple in the seasonal candy aisle
