FDA shares warning against eating these chocolates found to contain hidden drugs

If you've got a sweet spot for chocolate, you'll need to be careful about what brand you purchase. Gear Isle has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of a particular chocolate product.

Chocolate contains undeclared ingredients

Even though this is a voluntary product recall by the manufacturer itself, rather than the FDA, you'll still want to take it seriously. Think of it as a proactive move.

The chocolate contains ingredients you wouldn't expect to find - active pharmaceutical ingredients. To get even more specific, it contains undeclared sildenafil and tadalafil.

Chocolate with a side of pharmaceutical ingredients isn't just strange; it can also be dangerous for some people.

A serious side effect can happen

For some people, ingesting these pharmaceutical ingredients could cause a significant drop in blood pressure. This is because the ingredients can interfere with the medicine you may be taking.

A sudden drop in blood pressure is a serious medical event, and it could even be life-threatening in rare cases.

Definitely not worth the risk.

If you're an adult male who uses nitrates in your prescription medication, or you have a cardiac condition, you are in the highest risk category.

So far, Gear Isle hasn't reported any adverse events.

Gear Isle listed its Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet and the ilum Sex Chocolate Male Sexual Enhancement Booster on the recall notice.
