Summer menus are officially in full swing, and Dairy Queen is celebrating America's 250th birthday with a frozen treat that's hard to miss. For a limited time, the chain is selling its new Stars & Stripes Misty Slush Float for $2.50 at participating U.S. locations.

The limited-time drink layers Cherry Misty Slush, Blue raspberry Misty Slush, and Dairy Queen's signature soft serve with star-shaped sprinkles on top. The result is a red, white, and blue frozen float designed for Fourth of July celebrations. The $2.50 promotion applies to the small size and runs from June 29 through July 5.

Dairy Queen has more up its sleeve than just a new drink

The patriotic float isn't the only new item hitting the menu. Dairy Queen is also rolling out three new Blizzard flavors inspired by desserts from around the world: Strawberry Mango Mochi, Mexican-style Hot Chocolate, and Biscoff Cookie. It is one of the chain's biggest seasonal menu refreshes of the summer.

A dream vacation is also up for grabs

There is also a vacation up for grabs, as Dairy Queen is pairing the launch with a rewards promotion through its app. DQ Rewards members can enter the Go for the Globe Sweepstakes through July 26 for a chance to win a six-night trip for two valued at $12,400. Customers who buy the Stars & Stripes Misty Slush Float before July 5 will also receive 250 bonus DQ Rewards points and three sweepstakes entries.

The perfect excuse to cool off

If you have a Dairy Queen near you, you might want to take advantage of the promo before it ends. A red, white, and blue frozen float probably won't change your summer. But for $2.50, it offers a fun excuse to cool off, celebrate the holiday, and try something that won't be on the menu for long.
