Costco's $1.50 hot dog combo gets its first change in 40 years
Costco's $1.50 hot dog combo is arguably one of the best deals out there if you're looking for a quick, inexpensive meal. For the first time in 40 years, the combo has changed because now you can get a soda or a water.
Soda isn't everyone's first choice
With a huge push towards healthier eating, and a healthier lifestyle in general, not everyone wants a 20 oz refillable fountain soda. It's a lot of sugar and calories, and you may not like the Coca-Cola branded soft drinks.
Instead, you can now get a 16.9 oz bottle of Kirkland Signature water for the same price. Not only is it a healthier option, the fact you have a cap for the bottle means it's easier to take on the go.
That's not the only menu change
If bottled water isn't exactly something you get hyped about, you may be more interested in the latest sweet added to the menu.
There is a new Caramel Churro Sundae, which will only be around for a limited time. The sundae uses Costco's wildly popular soft serve ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, or swirl) and is topped with crunchy churro bites and salted caramel sauce.
You'll need a Costco membership to eat at the food court
Be warned that Costco has a rule at most U.S. locations that you'll need to have an active membership to eat at the food court. So yeah, it's a great deal, but it's reserved for members.
There are several membership tiers, it comes down to how often you shop, how much you spend, and the kind of items you're buying. The executive membership is $130/year, business membership is $65/year, and the gold star is also priced at $65/year. Each tier has its own pros and cons.
You can't beat the price
The fact is, it's difficult, if not impossible, to beat the hot dog combo deal at Costco. Now that you can order water instead of soda, expect the combo to get even more popular - if possible.
