Coors Light launches first non-alcoholic beer in brand history
It's official! Coors is jumping on the bandwagon and giving customers a first for the brand. Which bandwagon is that? It's the non-alcoholic beer trend that has exploded across the country in the past year or so.
Meeting customers where they're at
Non-alcoholic beverages can't even be considered a trend anymore; the stats are pretty clear. Alcohol consumption has been dropping for years, and there's no sign of it bouncing back.
Call it marketing jargon, but it's about meeting customers where they're at. That's why you'll be able to buy Coors Light 0.0, a non-alcoholic version of its popular beer.
Watch for the beer to roll out this month
The good news is that Coors 0.0% ABV beer is rolling out this month. The bad news is that it's not nationwide - yet.
If you live in the Northeast, you may be lucky enough to spot it. It won't be widely available until 2027. It seems like they may be doing a soft launch first.
Molson Coors takes it a step further
Even though this is the first non-alcoholic beer for Coors Light, the company owner, Molson Coors, has been dipping its toes in the industry for a while. Molson Coors has been diversifying and growing its portfolio beyond beer.
Other non-alcoholic beers under the Molson Coors brand include Blue Moon Non-Alcoholic and Peroni 0.0.
The Blue Moon brand is growing by 25%, according to CEO Rahul Goyal. With growth like that, it's easy to see why the company is going all in.
Of course, it's also about the competition; both Modelo and Heineken already have non-alcoholic beers.
Even more choices available
Even if you've never tried a non-alcoholic beer before, this may be the little push you needed. Many taste incredibly similar to the alcoholic version, but don't carry the same health risks.
