Burger King’s new Loaded Jalapeño Whopper was created by a fan

Many businesses love talking about "listening to customers." Burger King just took that idea a step further. The chain's newest Whopper was not created in a test kitchen or dreamed up by executives. It came directly from a customer suggestion, and it is now rolling out nationwide as part of Burger King's summer menu.

The intention, as the company revealed, is to give customers “fun flavors that they experience and share.”

“Whether they’re looking for a full meal or a sweet or savory snack, these new limited-time menu items deliver the type of innovation Guests have been asking for, and we’re continuing to listen and give them what they want,” Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King US&C said.

The new Loaded Jalapeño Whopper is the latest winner from Burger King's "Whopper By You" platform, which lets customers submit ideas for future burgers. The sandwich features flame-grilled beef, crispy jalapeños, pickled jalapeños, creamy jalapeño sauce, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato.

Burger King is making summer very orange

The burger is not the only new arrival, as Burger King is also introducing the Orange Dreamsicle Freezee King, a frozen drink inspired by the classic creamsicle flavor. It combines a frozen orange base with orange cream cold foam and sprinkles on top.

If that sounds nostalgic, that's the point. A lot of fast-food chains are leaning heavily into childhood flavors right now, and Burger King is clearly joining the trend.

For dessert, Burger King is launching the Firecracker Cookie Pie. The limited-time treat combines a sugar cookie crust and cream filling alongside red, white, and blue star-shaped sprinkles.

The timing is tied to America’s upcoming 250th birthday celebrations, making it one of the more on-theme fast-food desserts you'll see this summer.

Some fan favorites aren't leaving yet

Burger King is also extending the run of two recent menu items: the Bacon Swiss BBQ Whopper and the Cheddar Ranch Tots. The burger includes Swiss cheese, bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and creamy BBQ sauce. The crispy tots are packed with Cheddar cheese, potato filling, and Ranch seasoning.

If you are one of the customers who weren't ready to say goodbye, that's good news.
