If you're looking for a side gig to make a little extra money, you may want to check with your local Burger King. Thanks to a massive turnaround in customer satisfaction and demand, the fast food chain will be hiring 60,000 employees nationwide.

A very big deal for the chain

Hiring 60,000 employees sounds huge, even for a big chain like Burger King. The company is calling it one of the "most transformative periods in years", which is easy to believe.

You can expect the customer experience to improve as the new hires are onboarded. More employees mean better, faster, and more efficient customer service.

The new hires will be spread out nationwide

The company hasn't given specifics about how many they will hire in each region and location, but they have said it will be nationwide. There are almost 6,500 restaurants in the country.

The chain is working to "Reclaim the Flame". It's a sales strategy to increase foot traffic.

“Now we need great people to help us keep that momentum going – people who are passionate, hardworking, and genuinely friendly," said Tom Curtis, President of Burger King in U.S. & Canada, in a press release.

"A warm welcome goes a long way, and the Team Members who bring that energy every day are at the heart of what makes the Burger King experience special,” said Curtis.

Other efforts are also underway

As part of the "Reclaim the Flame" strategy, the Whopper underwent a bit of a makeover. The concept is the same but the ingredients are now premium quality.

The Whopper makeover has been such a hit that the company says it's responsible for much of the increase in foot traffic so far.

Burger King got feedback from customers that their restaurants needed modernizing, and that too became part of the "Reclaim the Flame" strategy.

A restaurant chain with a clear goal

If it's been a few years since you went to a Burger King, this may be the time to check it out. The Whopper's premium ingredients give it an elevated taste, and it sounds like customer service and experience will be the priority.
